Few beaches thrive as well as Canggu’s Batu Bolong Beach, which sits at the end of a busy street filled with cafes, shops, and hotels. How to get to Canggu: From the airport: just 30 mins by car (11km)From Ubud: 50 mins away by car (28km)Canggu is close to popular tourist hotspots like Kuta, around 20 mins on scooter, and its an hour if you walk along the beach, and from Canggu to Seminyak, its just 15 mins. If you haven't seen any bars or restaurants you really haven't been around much at all. Canggu is fulllll of them. Some are closed at the moment but Canggu is substantially better in my opinion than Seminyak, but I did live there for years.

There are craft beers on tap, leather sofas, open fireplaces, and the classic fish and chip pub food, beautifully contrasting with the tropical Batu Bolong vibes.

Finally, the Bali Climbing and Bouldering Gym is one of the few of its kind on the island. Know that when you visit Canggu, you don’t necessarily have to party all the time or gorge on food.
The price of a taxi into seminyak will depend if it is close to the Canggu Club or near Pereranan. As Bec says, there are an incredible number of great cafes and restaurants in Canggu now and it makes going into Seminyak for dining less of a necessity. From where I have my villa (Berawa) it is around 50,000 for a taxi to go into Seminyak.
Nature and beautiful scenery: Ubud, Amed, Sidemen, Nusa Penida Island. Nightlife: Seminyak, Canggu. Most central: Ubud. Tip: Ubud and Seminyak are probably the best places to stay in Bali if it’s your first time visiting the island, as they are central and offer you a small taste of what the island has to offer.
If you came to a party all night – Sanur is not where you want to be. Better head to the southern beach towns (Seminyak, Canggu, Legian and Kuta). However, Sanur does have some bars with live bands for an evening of entertainment. The Onion Bar can be great fun with coo live bands. Out with the family? Check out movie night at Genius Cafe.

Choose Seminyak for its beautiful beach. La seminyak beach turns out to be one of the most important and prettiest of Bali. Very tall, it starts from Kuta beach and then get to Canggu . Along this beach, you will find deckchairs, pubs, snacks, clubs…. This place is very popular with holidaymakers from all over the world!
Colony Hotel in Seminyak. The Colony Hotel is insta-famous for it’s picture-perfect colonial-style courtyard pool in the heart of Seminyak. It may not be beachfront or suspended in the jungle, but it does make for a perfect home base in the Seminyak/Canggu area – where much of the nightlife, shopping, and ex-pat scenes are in Bali.
