Make them smith. r/Bannerlord.Then transform it into Charcoal. Once you have some Hardwood you can go to a forge in any town. You can convert two Hardwood pieces into one Charcoal - just open the Refine tab. This way you can get a lot of Charcoal in M&B 2 Bannerlord. Of course, you will need some gold to buy raw materials.

Other times (more common), you'll need to pay anywhere from 100k to over 2 million. This can be circumvented by recruiting lords with the Honor trait or by recruiting lords with which you have >30 relation (as of 1.4.0). These lords will join you for free. Stop chopping heads off, release nobels when you capture it.
To create a companion party in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord, head over to the Clan Management tab, which will be the one right next to the Kingdom tab. While in Clan Management, click the tab that says Parties and then click on Create a Party. From here, choose which companion you want and give them some troops.
Companions get lost in Ain Baliq. To get them back you can appoint them as governor which will teleport them to whatever you appointed them governor of, or you can try kicking them from the clan and then rehiring them from whatever tavern they go to. Just found this from google. It is undeed a bug, Ain Balig bug.
In the Clan parties menu you can see where your companion is. If he's in an active caravan its location will be under Parties. You can order the caravan to disband an your companion will either go find you, or go to the nearest relatively friendly town. Either way, you can see his location in the Clan member page.
easiest way of levelling steward is giving them a fief. Otherwise just let them have a party. Doesnt take too long. Also there are still ones who spawn with it, just rare. But, basically, its useless. Like just make a companion a noble instead, dont need to pay their wages, they get 2 other nobles that do have steward and other useful skills
