FWIW my own analyses suggest that it makes not a blind bit of difference to your hired drivers where you place your garages - the freight market that the player sees affects only the player driver whilst the AI drivers are just a set of simple rules that are unaffected by the local economy.
The only remark that can be raised at SCS is that ferry time is counted twice in the job's total time. Maybe they wanted to make hired drivers less likely to get on ferries, but this way they made game to avoid most ferries, as the job's total time (that matters for Best route) grows up more than needed.
Visit the Drivers tab. In the main hub, once you have started or loaded a season, either click or tab to the ‘Drivers’ area of the menu along the bottom menu bar. From there, select any of your three existing drivers. You must select a driver you would like to be replaced, as accepting a new driver’s contract via this method will switch
If you have spaces for more drivers at the time, that is. Select a truck and click on "Drive It". When the dialog pops up saying that the truck is on a job and it will take X hours, makes a note of that time. Do this for each truck with an active load until you find the truck with the longest swap time and click "Yes".
Part of the problem may be with the way freight market jobs are generated for hired drivers. Right now we have plenty of instances where "Driver X couln't find a job and had to return home empty" after an internal game-determined downtime limit. Letting the hired drivers roam more than just out-and-back only makes it more complicated.

Not really your AI drivers, but you can see "your" trucks in traffic. Nothing is going to put AI versions of your virtual drivers in the game unless SCS does it. And I don't see it ever happening. It'd make more sense to just generate random AI traffic same as Jazzy's pack with a preselected paint and equipment with no real destination in mind
at that point i loan some money from the bank so that i actually can buy 3 trucks and hire drivers for the trucks. The hired drivers earn also money for your company. The most versatile trailer type is flatbed with pins, as it can take both tanks with liquid content and regular containers.
