Turned it on yesterday and noticed that the station selection menu and voice controls were not showing up on the heads up display. The nav was also not showing up on the instrument panel. I did not turn any of the otions off and would not come back with restarting the car. I had to reset the software to factory spec to get it to work which
Basically the HUD was shifting up (but shifting up WAY more then could be compensated with controls) Other time the HUD option was just grayed out and I couldn't do anything until the next start. Last week I started my X5 and it did not start with the first push, sounded like a bad battery and with another push of the start button it had a Hard Go to the android menu, play music or video, increase the volume. If no sound, go to the original menu, select " AUX" or " USB', or "USB/AUX source", touch the screen and back to the android menu, play a music or video, increase volume, if no sound, go next two steps.

Another thing to try is to find and pull the fuse for the Nav. Then of course put the fuse back and start the car. I had a similar issue with a MB some years ago, and what did the trick was to disconnect the battery for a minute or so and reconnect. That is a royal PITA, but as a last resort . . . BMWCCA since '88.

Technically speaking, anything is possible, provided money isn't an object to you [emoji6] realistically however, I believe the heads up display requires a different type of windshield as well as a completely different dash, so basically too expensive. Therefore you could go out and get I think if the head unit is bad, screen would turn on display a white screen or say no signal. Also, I think radio etc is connected to head unit. I think my screen is dead. I appreciate if others can chime in too. Thanks
#3 · Jan 10, 2010 Huh? Only go on with the M button? There is a button next to the light switch (upper right set of buttons, opposite the fog lamp switch if I remember correctly). That turns it on.

In my 2014 F10 M5 CP, the heads-up display only shows the speed and the "Speed Limit", despite several other items (navigation, gear ID, etc. being checked). Is this normal? In M-display mode, there is a "cartoonish" display of more info, though I don't see navigation info. aHyEtm.
